P is Wife of H. For us (H,P,R,Pr and Me) Sunday treat is Movie, kootanj Sooru, laugh loud by pulling either one of us or someone from office. Last Sunday after a tough time of preparing lunch, we sat for lunch... this incident (accident) happened.

This repeated thrice... and this was disturbing the movie... getting on to every ones nerves.

My first shoot with Shaam. He is been taught with lot of slogans. the best part about kids is their mazhalai... funny pronunciations. Shaam talks alot, it is tought to answer his questions and if he run out of question.. he loops it back, but his mazhalai makes it more interesting.. Check this video of he saying the Raghavendra Slogan. I love the firangi accent in this..

A gift to my dad to keep him busy these days.. Sony DCR-SR62, the Hard Disk model slips into your palm.. this is my first Camcorder, so gonna explore this for the next few days.. On the first go, i liked the docking station, remote, 1MP quality frame and touch sensitive screen, 30GB capacity with 400 to 600 min recording time. Even the Photo taken from it came good. Shot couple of movie with Shaam and Miruthubhashini.. Can any one suggest me a good editing software, Sony doesn't bundle any good s/w with this. The Picture Motion Browser is pathetic. Can somebody

This post was shelved in draft for a long time. It is out today for kavi. Do not get me wrong after reading this. I am just a normal frustrated person that day.

Scene :
Me and H returning to take our bike in KBR park after the morning
A brand new Blue Estilo was parked in the middle of parking entrance, not allowing any car to get in to the parking area.

H : See this bugger, the way he has parked the Car.
Me : *Got *
on seeing the car parked in the middle of parking entrance, not allowing any car to get in to the parking area.
H : Ivanalam namma officela panramathiri pannanum

In our office we have lot of jack *** who park their car in the middle occupying two slot.

H : would write either in the front or rear glass of the car as
"Did you park your brains at home? Guess what you forgot to pick it up"
"Do we hire morons?"
"LKG admissions are open, they also teach driving"

Me : The car was fully mucked up with dust. Wrote "Ass Hole" on the front glass. When i was about to finish the "E". Heard Queek Queek, never realized the sound of car. Turned around tapping my hand dusting out the muck from my hand, a middle aged man came near to the car.
Me : Vidu Jutieeess.. I doubled up towards my bike. Turned around, saw the guy trying to read letter by letter as he was reading from inside... pochuda..

At bike parking area
Lifted bike stand, ignited engine, saw a lady so elegant that morning with beautiful big bindi and a lovely smile blocking my way.

Me : Excuse me aunty
A : Sorry Son
Me : I really liked the aunty's gesture, Good Day aunty
A : you too son.
Me : H took the back seat.. crossed the road.. saw the car stopping by aunty and she hopped in.

Felt embarrassed Awwwww....
what would aunty think of me, though the guy has done mistake. How she would have felt on reading the words... (guess the guy is really dumb.. he drove his car until my sight with the words on the glass.. can't his brain think of whipping with his whipper?)

PS : I do not abuse like this. Something went wrong that day and few discussion the previous day made me to do so. Guess i never woke up my brains that morning.

Every Year, I would go to my home town for Pongal Holidays. But this year decided to spend here in Hyderabad in Goltu istyle.

Sankranti Subhakankshalu.

In Andhra Pradesh, the festival is celebrated with a special color kolam (Rangoli) at their house, cooking food with the harvested rice and flying kites.
On demand prepared sakkarai pongal and Venn Pongal and it did came well.

I actually don't remember my childhood days of flying a kite. Deal, Maanja, pattam yellam nan konjam weak. Avi invited me for celebrating sankranti at his house. tappu tuppu duum was at avi's house by 12 noon. I really enjoyed the day by flying kites. vekkakedu.. learnt to put the thread, flew kite, lost many kites, total TP. Ppl here enjoy the whole day by flying kites. Every one of the house from thatha, paati, Cousin, ladies to kids assembled at mottai maadi. Aaratai, mokkai, loud music, cut others kite and then shout like mad, murruku and seedai are the repeated activites. Finally at around 5 o clock, when the wind was better we decided to fly the dragon kite gifted by ganesh. A huge, pro kite from US. Way back home stopped by necklace road, was zapped to see the whole enthu hyderabhadies flying kite there.. It was an awesome view, were you see thousands of kite flying in different colors at different heights. Different experience, another good day in my life.

Spicy South Indian Shark Hash - Sura Puttu / Non Veg Recipe

This is a post on the ways to cook Sura Puttu (Shark Hash) purely on south indian amma ishtlye.. so Veg ppl take diversion.

posting this not only for my friend, but for Myself as I keep forgetting the procedure and process to cook this dish and then a major line from Amma, dei phone kaasuku nee kadailayae poi sapadalam. [For the money you spend on Telephone, you might as well have at a Restaurant.]

Ingredients :
1. Shark (700gms),
2. Onions (3 big ones)(the more you take, the more the content and the taste),
3. Garlic cloves (handful - same logic as for onions)(Do not use the paste available in the market)
4. Ginger (half the size of little finger)(paste is ok here)
5. others [Turmeric powder, curry leaves, Green chillies, cloves, DalChini, Bay leaves, pepper powder, salt and oil]

Procedure :
1. Boil water in a vessel with water level just to immerse the shark in it. Once it starts to boil, drop the cleaned (with turmeric and salt) shark and let it get cooked for 10min with the lid closed. 10 min is sufficient, peel the skin (just like potato peeling - Easy one). Do not leave it in water for a longer time as it would make the puttu as a paste. Remove the inner middle bone, shred and smash the shark flesh with pepper powder (red chilli powder can also be used), turmeric and salt.
2. Vessel + oil + burner on, season the oil with cloves, DalChini, Bayleaves, green Chilli, curry leave. Awesome smell it would be at this time.
3. Add the onions to fry, add the garlic and ginger smashed in mixie. Fry to golden color.
4. Add the smashed shark, keep frying for 5 mins until, the smell of turmeric disapears

Ready!!

Heaven it would be when Servered for a Sambar or hot Tomato Rasam.
Server hot with love and affection on a banana leaf. If your guest is a fish lover and a big lazy *** like me, sure they would love it.

Jarugandi Jarugandi

Jarugandi Jarugandi - Yup this is the Tirupati Trip Travelogue.

In Short the trip started at Nanganallur (Anchi), Tada Falls, Srikalahasthi (Eeshwar), Tirupati, Chandragiri Fort, Kanipakkam (Pilliayar Appan), Tirumala (Venky), Srinivasa Mangapuram (Elder Venky), Talakona Falls.

Rule : I will select one place of my choice for each place of visit by my parents.

Nanganallur : (15th Dec) Daddy and Amma Came to Nanaganallur. Me, Sis and Sham joined them to visit Anjaneya. We lived there few years before, place has changed a lot. Nostalgic!! reminds me of lot many incidents. Prasadam at this place is awesome :p.

Tada Falls : Back on NH7(3pm), Steered to Tada falls. The Falls is actually 20 km from Tada. Reached the foot hills by 5PM. Environment wasn't favoring, have to drop the plan.
Points to Remember: Go in a Group, you need to drive on ~3km of rough road (actually no road) to reach the stream, then would need to trek for 5km to reach the Waterfall.

Srikalahasthi : This place is famous for the Rahu Kethu Sarva Dosha Nivarna Pooja. If you are planning to visit tirupati, Pilgrim can get their darshan booking here itself. One round of night darshan and me started clicking some shots. Asusual amma behind me pothum da yara thitaporanga.
Ko(matha) Puja : Woke up early morning to attend Ko Puja. It is believed that each organ of a cow represents different god, goddess and devargal. The sacred cow of the temple is decorated and is worshiped.

Chandragiri Fort: Got AAD tickets for 17th morning Dharshan at tirupati and decided to visit Chandragiri Fort built during Vijayanagara rule. It is a good relaxing place with a museum displaying the sculptures and culture of Vijayanagar. There is also a Sound and Light Show with Amitabh Bachan's voice as its voice over, taking the audience down the history lane. The fort has the ruins of Raja and Rani Mahal.
Tip: Best time to visit this place is before dusk.

Kanipakkam: It is ~60km from tirupati by road. The God here is a Swayambhu Pillaiyar. The Myth goes like this. A def and a dumb trying to dig a well for water, hit a stone which started to bleed and and is believed to be god Ganesha. It is also believed that the blood is still oozing and shown to privilege pilgrims. (Yennagada dei..) But as such the temple is good, nice place to visit. Visit to Kanipakkam and back to tirupati would just take max 5hrs.

Tirumala : I was eagerly waiting for this drive. The Road uphill is awesome. I enjoyed the twist and turns of the road. I was lil speeding, but fun. It was pitch dark when i started to drive. During each turn your ears starts to block, temperature drops, clouds pass by, suddenly you are in the middle of mist, shearing thro it. I enjoyed each and every moment of it. In less than 30mins reached the toll gate at 22hrs. Got the Stay at GNC. Went out for a walk with A630. Our stay was not equipped with hot water supply. Mentally prepared for a cold bath, suddenly daddy said there is a hot water Room available. with just the only bucket, filled it with fuming hot water. Over Confidence. One mug of water on my shoulders. ****. Not willing to waste the hot water, took it slowly. Venky vellaiya katitarudooi.. Ketathu mellayae roombha koduthutaaru.. Unusually the Que was smooth till the praharam, after that Jarugandi Jarugandi thaaan. Then another Jarugandi Jarugandi at laddu counter. It was the first day of marghazhi mathan and thirupavai was sung in the temple. It is a different experience.
Tip: If you want to have a relaxed venki darshan, go to the temple on a Tuesday/Wednesday 10pm.

Srinivasa Mangapuram: Started to drive down the hill by 8 AM(17th Dec). It is ~10km from Tirupati on the way to Talakona. It is believed that God came here before going to Tirumala. "The Kalyan Venkateswara is a replica of the main deity of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala". Technically he is just 1" smaller than the one in Tirumala. But he looks big with the allangarams and pilgrims are allowed to have darshan much closer.

Talakona: Usually Daddy would take navigator seat, but he went back saying my driving is scary. A frisking office working for TTD asked for a lift to tirupati. He was the guy who gave me all the above stories and tips of the place. Based on his comment decided to go to talakona. 45km from tirupati out of which 25 on Ghats and the rest in forest. "Talakona is noted for its scenic beauty comprising lush green vegetation and a perennial waterfall which cascades down from a height of 270 ft." This is true. After a 2km drive in Sri.Venkateswara Sanctuary, one need to trek more than a km to reach the water falls. The water is so cold that it took my breath away for a sec, but then it was total fun.
Tips: Friends/Food/Gang is a must. Water Proof camera. Be there just after the monsoon rains. Beware of our ancestor.

New Year Resolution - Tagged Again

I have been tagged by Anoop "tale of a lone wolf" to list my new year resolution. Thanks Dude :)
In my first Year of my College, A New Year resolutions is just a crap idea; it’s simply setting yourself up for lots of disappointment later on. So the new year resolution 1996 was "Not to take a New Year Resolution during New Years". Felt proud and stood for the Resolution.
But later i understood life without goals was like sailing without a destination. Happily broke the resolution and started to list the objectives for my life.
Looking back on this year goal

Save Money - Accomplished.
Morning Walk - Except for 4 months of Knee Rest - I made an attempt to reach KBR park.
Reduce Thooppai (Tummy) - On Going, but considerable accomplishment.

Now the Tag - New Year Resolution '08.

Get on to Oracle Applications Consulting.
Improve fitness level.
DIY project every month, starting january a small studio in my room.

There are lot more i thought but not sure i would be able to keep it up.

Learn to say 'No' (Yennada rombha nallavanu mattum thappa nenaikadeengo. Will not say no, but do what i wish only)
Shred a bit of lazyness
Plan my Time/Money

Dog Tag Drive - pqi Intelligent Drive i810 - iDrive

A New Addition to my gadget family.
Recent Days the thingee which more often i use is Mass Storage Drive (be it either my iPod, mp3 Thumb drive, External HDD or a SATA Drive). I want to carry a Drive with me always like a dog tag. Thanks to J for Gifting me this ;) hurray I got my New Year Gift [Jay, i know u r smart].

My Review: PQi Intelligent Drive i810 is a new generation USB flash drives built with the concept of combining technology, style and fashion in one. No more using my laptop for watching movies. Convert DVD,.avi,.mpeg to .mp4, sync with your iPod and directly plug on to your Home Theater / TV. Not sure how many in India know this cool accessory available for Video iPod (5th Generation and above), as for many of my friends an iPod is just a mp3 player and video player during travel. After testing this Cable, I am personally satisfied by the TV - WideScreen Output and the clarity you get on an 29" TV. iPod AV Cable is a healthy cable, bought @ the Apple Store is lil costly, but one could find many more in the gizmodo.com, Amazon and google for a cheaper price. I sync'd couple of Video podcast from NatGeo Website and podbazaar.com and with this cable "I am totally Loving it" :)

Can cook my own Food rite from Breakfast to Lunch to snacks to Dinner, but offcourse i need my mom's sambar podi and online support from the chief chef or the lil chef.I love cooking for my friends. Atleast one or the other week, we cook/party at home. Known to friends as Aada Bala (south indians should know the Aada Dish, in hyd they call pesaratu)

Have patience to baby sit a kid and especially if it is a girl, i enjoy wasting time with them

Fitness Freek .. naaaaaa... Can't be after listing the above, but walk daily 5kms and workout for 1hr. Thanks to my friends who drag me.

Hyderabad 10K Run [24644] Nov 25th 2007

Actually it wasn't a 10K Run, but a 10K walk this time.
Not Bad 1hr 40 mins (100 Min), as i thought it would take 2hrs for a person who got ACL reconstructed just 6 months before. Myself and Srikanth decided to walk the show and would pull off on discomfort. We reached Gate 4 and got ourselves registered (hmm vekka kedu - blackla). Registration forms got over and counters were closed, a random dude shared his (never turned) friends registration with us. So finally 24643 (Sriks) and 24644 (balu) along with Renga, Jawahar, Sarat and Pandey (I Guess) started the walk/run by 7.18 AM. The crowd for me seems to be less when compared last two years. But one could see mom cheering kids, guys cheering gals, rock band stalls cheering the participants, corporates, schools, handicapped on the track. Hats off to each and every one who participated in the run irrespective of whether they finished or not. Not sure what we chat, it started from fitness to food to bloggers to flickr to camera to Office practice and what not, in the middle at sight of 7,6,5,4,3 km to finish we kept on encouraging each other as "Not Bad Maaan". We finished the Run and the clock ticked 8.38 AM. Another final "Not bad Man" we did it in an hour and 40.
Felt proud, as usuall Minerva BreakFast and a Good Sleep .
What else i require on a Sunday. Another Good Day in my life.

'Happy Days' - இது ெதலுங்கு படம், not a peter padam. Titleaa parthu first confuse agitaen, then knowing it the movie directed by Sekhar Kammula, book pannitaen. Godavari is my all time fav movie of him. Abt the movie - proper sekhar kammula ishtyle movie, rombha nalla hero, kurumbhu ponnunga, real life dialogues, casual jokes, oru lala music (athuthaanga theme music), heroineooda expressions, etc yellam orae saayal. But i kinda liked his style. Music is good. More on the movie read here.

Watch n enjoy the movie, out n out entertainer. In abt 2 hrs it kindled my "god knows" buried memories of my 4yr college life.

3rd yr Sandai with Seniors - Adi dhai la, strike, etc.. konjam busy with NIIT.
4th yr po(a)rupu pasanga - project, culturals, sports meet...
then life serious. Except for the romance, intha sweet days aa oru padamaa yedutha, nothing but Happy Days movie - Nostalgic

Do watch it with "friends" my friend.

Latest June 19th night 23:50 hrs
Shaam : mamma vaanga saami kumbhadalam [Shaam calling for prayers]. Remembered chandramukki's dialogue "Yenna Kodumadai da Saami". So decided to move out of my bed and stepped out to the Hall. It was dark. Usually my sis will not allow me to walk in dark, wet floor - was surprised to hear she calling me "Vaanga Saar". A cake and two lighted nice smelling candles [which sis was having for a long time waiting for an occasion].
Priya : So thats it
Shaam : Aaaapy Bhooorthday... remaining videola
Thot this birthday would be peace, no friends, no phone call, no email, no msgs.. no bear party.. but shaam, priya, jay mamma, appa and amma surprised me with cake and gifts. itha thaan aarularuthu aaruvathu varaiyo [Is this what 6 to 60's]. Definitely it was a surprise which i never expected.
Shaama pathi sollalayae.. nautanki, cuttie, loving kid, Amma payan (appa kita sandi pannumbhodu), Appa payan (amma kitta dishum dishum bhodhu). Avanunku mazhai vantha lord krishna vararaam. If you light something, it is only for prayers. Now you know why he invited me like that. Thalaivar rocks in patasala. Still in mazhalai paruvam. Everybody would love his company with his mazhalai.

Sathy@ asked me come to a restaurant and asked me to wait there... namma thaan sonnnatha panra parambharaiyae illyae... went to the nearby pullareddy sweets. I parked the bike, got the sight of RAT. Deeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiii..... for a sec couldn't belive... Maaaan thats the surprise!!!! Actually thats the time when RAT/Arun/Kanthi all left and was feeling alone. Sathy@ spoke with RAT/Arun and we had a good blast that new year. I forgot the year but the Deeeiiii sight is still fresh...Hats off to Sathy@ definitely thats my besttuuu..

Heard about ion as "More power to Mutter" in aarthir.com. Never realized, ion will be the "Only Power" for my Mutter, except for the time I sync up da playlist.

Following da post, read the story and review in Swaroops blog. First thing it came to my mind was "wow" this would be a nice gift to my friends. Becoz you know how lazy/kanjuse our friends are in buying an alternate power when you have a boring device to charge your iPod.

When I was in Apollo, I really felt the need of ion. My mom was like "Is this what u guys call urself smart where u carry a laptop to charge ur costly pocket radio (excuse me guys.. that is how my mom pisses me off). Immediateaaa logged in.. gave the address.. thanks to paypal easy registration.. just less than a min I orderd an Ion. Second day of order, parcel at your doorstep, simple parcel, simple box, simple device to power your favourite iPod.

Ion impressed me becoz of ...
1. Moral/Story behind ion
2. ion looks kwel, smaller [3 times smaller than my dell laptop charger, guess aarthir is having an advanced sleek laptop charger. :( ], doesn't weight much (can carry easily for long travel)

Aarthi suddenaa chatla ping pannina "Go and listen to 'Pray for Me Brother' by AR". Yes it is another fabulous single by AR. But this one is different from other singles (Vande Mataram & Bombay Dreams) were he conveys "You are for a Reason". The song is distributed by Nokia during the promotional campaign of Nokia NSeries (N91) Mobile. All the money raised will go to UN Charity. The video is lil different in this song, taken in vertical cinemascope to fit easily on to mobile screens. Not sure if it for N91!!!

I have to kirukify about other two songs, with the same flavour.
First is the song from "USA for Africa" - We are the world. The song is sung by 45 singers from US including my favorites MJ, Kenny Rogers, Tina Turner, Billy and many more..

Second is about the song "Do they know its christmas", again sung by lot of singers... Well my fav in this are Dido, Robbie Williams, Madonna ..

wiki on these songs for more info.. got to know lot more facts apart from what harish told me. Interesting... Live Aid was the first song sung live across nations from London to Moscow.. and many more.. I remember watching Live 8 which was performed during 2005, but the reason to watch that live was for the punk lady Avril :p..

Go Bhadrachalam

My trips are now a days not planned. Last weekend was out to Bhadrachalam and this will be the last trip until summer. 'Go' Bhadrachalam was decided after checking the availablity of the return train ticket.
Three things to be considered before going on a Trip to Bhadrachalam.
1. Go in a Group (Min 10 to 15 recommended)
2. Go during the right time, just after the monsoon (Oct to Jan)
3. Engage a vehicle for your own/Reserver the boat prior.
Myself, Appa, Amma, Bala & Shami started by bus to bhadrachalam. Bus late by 3hrs. Boat will start by 8.30AM, we were still at Bhadrachalam at 7.45 AM. Hired a Cab and reached the boat point by 8.45. He He he he.. late luck helped us there .. The boat came lil late and was inn by 9.30... Taga Taga Taga the 110hp Engine started and all the enthu(s) were all excited about the trip.
'Gangotri' our boat started, Breakfast was served in the boat. Bala started with the comment "Nammallam Upma Familya". The climate was lil hot, but once the boat started to move the breeze was ok. The boat went 40km on the stream and reached papikondalu, took a 'U' turn to reach Perentappali. The View of Sand shores, mountains and river between them was fascinating.
The Boat stopped at Perentappali, for a temple visit and a refreshment at a natural spring. Shammi decided to take a bath and we decided to climb the mountain to reach a good place for bath. It was worth a hunt. The Stream was chill and got good refreshment. After dharshan, had lunch (not all that great, but ok).
After lunch everybody was tired, started to sleep. I decided to wet my feet in the river, luckyly no one objected (unlike morning). With the music of Godavari, the scene was really smoothing even at that hot sun. Good memmories rolled back. The show came to 'The End' at 4.30 PM. We rushed to Bhadrachalam for the dharshan as the temple would be closed early due to the eclipse.
Dharshan was good. Returned to Kothagudam to catch our train back to Secundrabad.
The trip thou lil hectic with lot of travel, we enjoyed with jokes and comments from film. My folks too enjoyed with lil difference.

Ramoji Film City [Reloaded]

One of the promises which i keep on breaking is "No More to Ramoji!!!". Yes Broke this year too.. Weekend was out to ramoji with my Folks and Francis Mom. Reached Ramoji at 10:30 AM, after stop overs at Oracle Campus, Miyapur (Francy Home), Kamat (4 BreakFast).Thank God, this time its a new experience at Ramoji with new Stuffs.
1)Movie Magic - Here the crew take you thro how a movie is made, dubbed, processed(Audio & Video)and Release. A visitor is picked and movie is made instantly
2)Filmy Dunia - Definitely not a place for adults, but was surprised to see the old souls enjoying that.
3)Spirit of Ramoji - Very good performance by the dancers there. Nice show. Dad too liked it. This show has dance, comedy, gymnastics and many more.
4) Stunt Show - Man i am seeing this for the 5th time. Guess they need to change the sequence, boring for me. But good show for the first time go'ers..
5) Bus tour - They take you thro few lanscape of Ramoji, front view you see Swizzz Bank and the Rear is Gallej Mumbai market. Right side is hospital with left side as Airport. Go one level down for an AutoStand. Complete False Setup. It is only here train runs on MRF, Temple without God/Godess, highway turns to Garden.. blah blah... lot more.. you get to see Hawa Mahal, Japanese Gardern etc..
6) Fundustan - A Place for Kids.
7) Borasura - A place for all ages. Sirichi Sirichi we had stomach ache :).
8) Closing Ceremony - The day starts with an Opening and closes with a closing Ceremony. This time had a chance to see the closing one. It had a thank you type theme song, two item numbered dance, a magic show and many more.
There were lots we missed Rain Dance, Bungy Jumping (Dad never allowed me to do that), Games, Comedy show many lawns and parks. Even though it weren't real, It fetched my folks a good day and smiles throughout inspite of however tiering it was.
Thanks Ramoji Rao. My folks are happy so I AM. worth the money spent.

Dad and Amma at Velliangiri (Isha Yoga)

Instigated by thots of francy, decided to go Isha Foundation, Velliangiri on my recent visit to Coimbatore. Visitors to the yoga center can take a dip at Theerthakund, which houses a lingam made of Mercury which is solidified by prayers. [Freezing point of Mercury is -37.9 'C]. Even though myself and dad had difference of opinion on the principles of Sathguru, one thing we started to talk about was the power of mercury & we felt the vibrant energy in us or the part of body which got wetted in Theerthakund. The Theerthakund is a pond housing 666kg of 99% pure Mercury in solid form in a brass container, which is at 30 feet depth from ground. The walls were painted with the stories from puranas, build with big blocks of stone from the hills of vellaingiri.
After the dip, the visitors can visit dhyana lingam. Sculptured with mordern art, for me it never looked like a place for worship, but definitely it is a place for yoga, meditation where you can "Find the inner in you".

Ithullam Illama Sakkarai Pongal nalla irukkathu
1. Rice - Oru Allavu (1 Portion)
2. Pacha Paiyuru - Kaal Allavu (1/4 Portion of Rice)
3. Milk - Oru (1) Cup or lesser
3. Coconut - Konjam
4. Cashew - Unga Anbin Allavu
5. Jaggery - 400 to 500 giramu (gm)
6. Raisins[khish-mish] - 100 giramu (gm)
7. Cardamom - 3 to 4
8. Ghee - Unga Anbin Allavu

I learnt this from OnDemand/Online Teacher (Verayarum illa.. Mynavathy thaan) hahaha My mom. This is how she taught me.

Pacha Paiyura ponn nirathuku varuthuko, Rombha varuthuda thada appuram nalla irukkathu.. Appuram wash rice, moong dhal. Add water a lil less than 2 times the portion of Rice. Cooker la vachi cook pannanu. konjam Salt (pinch) add panniko (Amma Tip / It would boost the sweet taste. True it was!!!). Coconut aa konjam chinna chinnadha cut panni ghee varuthu vachikanum [tip from Aarthi's Indian Veg Recipe]. Cashew and Dry grapes yum ghee la varuthu thani thaniya vachiko. VeLLam konjama thani la karachi vachikitu heat pannanum [Kambhi padham vara varaikum heat pannanum / thanks to Ravi mama who gave me this tip. Pongal tasted very good]. Leave the cooker for two more whistle than usual cooking style. Open the cooker and add milk and start mixing till the milk is absorbed. Now add veLLam syrup and mix well. You should be getting the smell by now. Inviting trouble from other house ;). Add Ghee, powdered Cardomom and sim for some time. Add fried Cashew, dry Grapes, coconut to the sweet pongal and serve them.

Our original plan was to make Ven Pongal. So yennn viduvomae.. took a lil portion of the rice and moong dhal before adding milk and sweet and made these changes. Venn Pongal ready in 2 mins!!!!
Fry finely chopped green chillies and ginger in ghee. Fry whole black peppers and cumun seeds in a Pan. When the peppers burst add chillie and ginger pieces. Add Salt and curry Leaves and Mix all for Venn Pongal. Add roasted Cashew and lots of Ghee for a mouth watering Venn Pongal. Serve the pongal with coconut cutney seasoned with oil.

Tiruvakkarai [Fossil Wood Park]

A blog which I want to write for a long time was about the Fossil Woods of Tiruvakkarai.
The Fossil Woods date back to 20 Million Years. It is a fenced park maintained by the GSI(Geological Survey of India), lil badly would say :(. This place belongs to the State of Tamil Nadu, but closer to Pondicherry. The park is full of fossils which is look-a-like of Tree trunk. These fossils are huge and run more than 10 meters in length and a foot thick trunk. These fossils exactly look a like of tree trunck with greens(algae) grown overit. Most interesting part of the fossil is, you could see even the growth circles of the tree.

It was believed that this place was once a beach area and over a period these tree got buried in water. And slowly the trees tissues/fibre is replaced with silica deposits which now resembles the hard fossil stones. Even at this point it wasn't interesting. But when thot abt that this fossil is nearly 20 million years old. Well I started counting the zeros after 20 and was like WOW!!!. It is absolutely amazing to see an object as if it looks like yesterday which is 20 Million Years old [I am still counting the Zeros :(]. One can easily find the greatness of the fossil when you touch.
My Eyes says that it is Wood, but My mind says "Dude that is a Rock Man!!!"

Thinks which I felt bad when thot abt this place was

Badly maintained
The path which leads to this Park was horrible.
Just an old Name board saying "Fossil Wood Park"
It is not even lit up with lights for the Tourist.
No Importance/Awareness given by the Government of Tamil Nadu about this place. It is listed in all Pondicherry Tourism but not in Tamil Nadu. Thedipartha it is listed in Chidambaram Tourism. Felt bad after looking at this. How people is feed with correct information?

The Wood Fossils taken from Tiruvakkarai is kept @ Ooty Botanical Garden for display and People are more eager to see there but not at the origin. It is also kept in the fossil museum of London.

Few facts and links about Tiruvakkarai are
1. The first Wood-Fossil Park of the country is situated here.
2. large fossil bearing areas fenced into create the country's first national fossil-wood park here. These petrified trees lying scattered on low mounds and stream sections, date from the cretaceous age (100 million years ago)
3. An Article which came in Deccan Herald
Sentinels from long long ago
Some of the trees live for thousand years and more, some die too early. If left untouched, big trunks and branches of the trees are petrified. Some are transformed into coals, into diamonds and other precious stones after many million years. But the age of petrified trees, kept in enclosures, now under the governance of the Geological Survey of India in Tirukkarai village in Tamil Nadu, is 20 million years. Some of the wood-stones here at the Fossil Park are as big as 30 metres. Compared to those once living trees, mummies of Egypt are of recent origin. It is said to be the first official Fossil Park of India.
Of the nine fenced enclosures, 'B', the main enclosure is kept open for visitors. The trees, it is said, had been transported here before they were petrified. It is an uneven rocky terrain. Besides trees and fossils there are some mounds.
The formations are geologically called the Cuddalore Series. The earliest account of the fossils, in detail, made by a European naturalist, Sonneret has remained here since 1781. Some of the fossils belong to Mesembrioxylon Schmidianum and some belong to Angiosperms and the modern families like Guttiferae.

Hyderabad 10K Run [C3 143] Nov 26th 2006

Yeah Yeah Yeah!!!!
I finished the Hyderabad 10K Run in ~59 Min, 11th person among the Oraclites. Maaan!!! the race was awesome.. Hyderabad Rocks!!! What an enthu, spirit among the people.. I love it...(my registration number) The Race was a grant success.. Kutties( i mean the kids.. I saw one with skates..) Youngsters.. (people from different part of the globe) Oldies.. when i was parking my bike, I saw an old handikapped man with the Hyderabad 10k Run T-Shirt.. there were no words to appreciate that man..
I never thot i can do this after the accident i met with and nobody can call me chappani anymore...
The Story goes like this...
Myself and Sreedhar joined the other oraclites Siva, Avinash, Raghu, Pradeep and many more.. The Race started @ ~7:25 AM. The participant were told the do's and don'ts and the race started smoothly.. I ran for till the buddha statue (near lepakshi handloom showroom) non stop .. Guess that is 4Km which is my record. (My usual jog in KBR will have 4 stops which is just 3.8km).. There were many People/School/Bands/Corporate Club on the road Cheering participants of Hyderabad 10K Run.. When i Started the race my goal was to finish the race in limited stops.. I went a head, then raghu (the trekker), pradeep started catching me up and left me behind too :(.. There was the 'D' Company cheering the racers..
After a long time when i was nearing the Finish Line.. I heared the Shout of Oraclites as Orrr'aaaaacle Oracle.. Orrr'aaaaacle Oracle.. Studdenly the legs started to roll faster and finished the race as the 11th Person.. Damm missed the first 10 :(...
Went to Minerva.. We showed the enthu of 10K there in BreakFast Too.. A Good Day for Me..

Went on an expedition, finiding out a function place for team outing with Bret Fuller. Treasure Island - Avinash took us thro and it turned out to be a Treasure Hunt in finiding the place. On the way to Treasure Island is this wonderful place , Golkonda Resort can accomodate upto 4000 guest. The main building is a renovated building from the ages of Muslim Kings, It looks very beautiful in nights. It has beautiful honeymoon suites, booth bungalow (main building - We named it becoz it was shooted as pei veedu in one of the goltu movie), amphi theatre, greeny lawns, spa (yet to start), lounge bar and many more.

Pune Trip

Our Coffee Gang only plans but when it comes to Xecution [;)] it would be a flop. This plan is an Xception, we decided to go to Pune 4 da Oct 2nd long Weekend.

Day 1 : Reached Pune @ 10 past 10. We planned our stay at Dheena's house in Kalyani Nagar Next to After refreshing ourself we decided to go to Osho Ashram, the Ashram is located in the greens of Koregaon Park. As da ashram was closed for da day, we picked up tickets for monday tour. After couple pics we decided to move on to da next agenda (Sinhgad). Sinhgad is a ruined fort abt 45 mins drive from Pune City. Enroute to Sinhgad is Khadakwasla Dam. The climate/scene was so elegance we could resist to hv a stop there. After a long drive into da forest we reached Sinhgad, the fort was wet, full of algae/greens on the rocks and kwel with the punewalieees ;). Siva and Myself almost with da dialogue "Francis ku Pudichavanga Francis ku Pudichavanga." It was dusk and clouds started to drift over mountain, fort and atlast over us, We had a gud time njoying da chill mist after a long, not knowing sumthing left 4 the next day. Way back home we stopped over BPO. "Lets go party tonite On the dance floor" was air'd in FM, Siva started Machi will this come true today? As planned we reached "Fire n Ice" partied till 2.30. Dheena got pissed on seeing our MM in dhyanam. Francis: Machi nallaiku nan varala-yennai manithu vidu-nan osho ashram porean. Avan yedutha mudiva mathika matan. No point in convincing him.

Day 2: Nagaraj joined us to trip to Harihareshwar. When we did our research abt the place, it said 130km, but actually the route which da driver took us was 230km approx. Intially we were pissed at the driver by his slow driving, but the route was awesome we started enjoying the drive. We came across the private lake of Tata Power Reserviour, Terevadi Falls, a wooden gate looked like jurassic park gate. The Qua stopped at a valley and found the wheel was flat. I always wish this during my trips.. dat is real xperience.We stopped at Vile Village and got the Flat tyre back on road. I decided to do the kundalika - White Water Rafting sometime later.
Thanks to Nagaraj who picked couple of Audio Cassette to be played. It had the song "Manmadhanae Nee Kalaijnam Dhaan" from da movie "Manmadhan". The Topic switched to the lyrics of the song, Myself and Nagaraj started telling siva that dis is one song that would make any girl to sing dis and a guy to think will der be any girl who will sing for me ;)

I still rememeber the wheels moved with silence when da song sang these lines

Best thing abt this trip was we kept on travelling for a long time in the woods, the mile stones read 5Km.. Still we were in the mountain woods.. greeny.. Dhina got pissed and said is the Beach gonna be on the mountains ;).... Everybody broke with loud laugh.. When it read 1km we saw this .. a lovely stretch Thanks to MTDC, where we had the first meal for the day :( @ 4pm. Had fun der.. and decided to push-off early so that we can reach pune atleast by 12. The way back was truly breath-taking till we reach the Xpress-Way. Cannot forget the pitch dark and rain slashy road.

Day 3 :Asusal missed the planned train lol..., reached lonavala by 11.30. Uff had tuff time in xplaining sundar the place where i am standing in lonavala - as he came there in his bike. Lastly decided to go on our own. We hired a Sumo for Site Seeing. After few min of travel in the cab, We were zapp'd when driver asked us "Kya Bhaisab.. None of you have Girl Friends" First is GF and next is English. All were speechless looking at each other like WT F@#$ is this ;). We reached Lonavala Valley/Monkey Point, had a good time there with Toiyan(Siva) and Bundar(sundar). Me and Toiys had good time there mimicking a Telescope Guide. These were his dialogues, "Hanh the xpress road aap dekrahenga na Woo tho xpress road", "Abh aap dekrahengae na 'Sharuk Khan Banglow' woo tho 'Sharuk Khan Banglow'" lol.. Plz bare with my hindi.. We started as "Ippo Pakkaringala 'Toiyan' Avan thaan 'Toiyaaan'" hahahaha.. Then we went to Bushi Dam. Dhina did lot of stunts to get few girls ka attraction ;). Lions Point and the so called WaterFall of Lonavala are other places visited. The Last stunt of the day was a pair who slipped into the waterfall, still remember the way the girl was clinging on to the slippery rock. Myself and Dhina went to help those ppl who had a shock of their life.

Hd a wish to take my friends in my car for a long drive. Decided to drive to Kuntala. Got boosted/enthued on googling the word Kuntala. What is Kuntala ? Kuntala means a Girl with luxurious Hair(Curly) Damm We are going there ;) n another one saying lord Siva is also called as 'Khakuntala' meaning Kha - Sky and Kuntala - Curly hair tied upwards.
Later, the trip expanded to 8 member [Bala(d), Francis, Siva, Viresh(d), Amit, Arjun, Amar(d) and Rakesh] and decided to leave hyderabad @ 6.30 kphb on Jun 22nd '06. Drivers marked with 'd'

After picking up Amit/Francis n siva reached kphb by 7 we started to Kuntala on the Nagpur HighWay.
The wheels came to a stop at medchal when the crowd decided to have nashta.

After Breakfast we decided to rush towards SriRam Sagar Dam [Unfortunately this place is not google-able except for this link]. There are few in(ac)cidents like me screeching my breaks near tupran (if i could say that in Tamil - It means SomeOne Spitting), Camel on the Roads, Dil Chata Hai (View of Train), Piss Stops (Can't believe had snacks after this), some random lorry's tube burst which keep my memmories of the trip alive.

Well we had an Enthu Cutlet in the Group (one of the A's - well we know who is that as the other A's are not that young to be active ;) sorry Amar and Arjun) who always says lets stop here.. lets stop here... We stoped a few km before Pochampadu and decided to do a treck on the versant of the K-18 which we named as 'Operations Rocky'. Check this Video abt the Operation

Red Bull n White Mouse started towards the Pochampedu after a small refreshment in the foothill of K18.SriRamSagar Dam is Constructed across the Godavari River.Gang spent few minutes on the walls/silt.. we were told that it is not only us but also creepers are very good freq visitors to the dam. Damn lets move out.

After few Pics of the birds and the group on the spillway(not exactly but could say as WasteWier), the gang decided to move towards Nirmal for Lunch. Our Original plan of two days got changed to a day trip, by then alto could take a turn the Big Red Butt oops Bull rashed to Nirmal in search of Food. Had lunch at a marvadi mess. I still wonder how we parked our babies there... ;)..

The Wheels moved over the ghat roads and then steped into the roads of Kuntala Forest deviating from the Nagpur Highway.All I could see is Green.. Green and Green. Reached Kuntala, got ready ourself without knowing that some danger is ahead of us. All you could only hear is the sounds of the tearing water ripping the stones there. After decending lot of steps we reached the WaterFalls.. Yes it is true why it has the name Kuntalla... the silver lines of the water current looked like a blond hair..

Kuntala Falls The Highest Falls in AP. The Rocks in the falls are slippery and maybe becoz of this it is soft on ur bare foot. If you do not know swimming, falls is not the right place.

The Current is so high that no one could stand still. The treckers enjoyed the water drizzle. Took Photo/Shoot Video. Yeah the adjacent Video is the beautiful falls/friends. We decided to get into the water except one Big Dude!!!,

but the fun n dance we had in water attracted him to get himself drenched in the stincking stagnant water. hahahahaha. The Nautanki did lot of stunts, Fun it was!!!.

The Twist and Turn Munivar went on a pathaiyathra to do dhyanam, me went in search of him. Damn... the clouds turned black in a matter of sec... droplets started wetting the soft rocks to make it more slippery. Glidded/Slipped reached the foothill, took a deep breath, felt rebirth on earth again. On the other side could hear siva and arjun explaining the scene of siva calling his mom asking to send sepulture for him ;) hahaha..

Everybody tired after breathtaking incident and climbing up the hill to reach the car.Took the On Demand Photo. Decided to reach the A1 Plaza for Dinner. When driving back we saw deer passinf by.. By the time we reached Nagpur Highway, the sun came down.. speed came down to 60. My milage went up to 24 km/ltr.

Thanks to Veeru for driving me back for the last 60 Km. Reached home at 1 AM after dropping siva/munivar and Veeru. My Trip meter read 555.

After a Good Lunch & Sleep, Pra, Rav and Bal started from GEO 17°26'0.98"N, 78°25'9.38"E headed North East to YadhaGiriGutta.

The temple is located about 60 km from Highderabad near the town of Bhuvanagiri (Bhongir). The sanctum is a natural cavern on the hill.

Abt the Trip : After a snail drag the trip started at 5 pm, reached there @ 7pm with mi and Pra being the drivers for our esteemed consultant Rav. nJoy'd the up hill drive for 30 sec.... which took us to the cave temple of Lord Lashmi Narasimh. Very Good Dharshan @ 8 pm [Intha Kovila vithuyasama oru thadiyala bhakthargala adipanga.. that is the way they are blessed....] Drove back with Gana Songs from Xplode, Road Side Dhaba Dinner. Last finished the drive at IMAX for the last show of Super Man - Returns.

My First Long Drive to hIderbad. I was really scared to do this trip after lot of oppositions from my friends.... (they really care me). Myself and Renga shared the 650Km drive and we could complete in 12 hrs approx with lot of pit stops where all we wished (for food/photo/cofee/tea/piss hehehe).. The Roads were amazing!!!.. And I still could not believe my car gave 22.5 Km/Ltr Milage which is actually more than Maruti's quoted one. Few Pics collected Shooted
